Dow Jones Newswires: Methanex president, CEO John Floren to retire at year’s end

said Thursday that President and Chief Executive John Floren will retire Dec. 31.

Floren, who was named president and CEO in 2013, will also step down from the company’s board on that day, Methanex said.

He will be succeeded by Rich Sumner as president, CEO and a member of the board effective Jan. 1, the company said. Sumner, who joined the company is 2004, is currently senior vice president of global marketing & logistics, Methanex said. Previously, Sumner held senior leadership roles in marketing and logistics in North America and Asia, and also led the supply chain function, the company said.

Methanex provides methanol to markets in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
